When Athabasca Chipewyan #FirstNation elder Alice Rigney gazes at the Peace-Athabasca Delta, which has sustained her family for generations, she remembers the whitefish she and her brother caught several years ago in Jackfish Lake.
The fish was cooked in the traditional way, over an open fire, but, unknown to Rigney, there had been an upstream oil spill.
