On Thursday, the UN World Meteorological Organization said global temperatures are headed for a rise of 3 to 5 C this century, far above the target of 1.5 to 2 C.
The message seems to be clear: Earth’s climate is rapidly changing as a result of human activity. So how is it that some people are still reluctant to acknowledge it?

I had long arguments with the CBC back in 2012 because they weren’t talking about climate change.
They were quite rude back then, too bad I did not keep those emails…

Some people like to believe they are right even if without any evidence
Some just fall for fake science
Some have agendas, like religions or economy
Did you know that 95% of the people are convinced they are smarter than average? That also explains a portion.
Then some just want to ignore the whole thing because it seems to complex or may require efforts/sacrifices.
What we have here is what it has been called before: An Inconvenient Truth. People would have to make changes in their daily routines, sacrifices even, and commit to something. Much easier to carry on in ignorance and denial, same as they do about the illegal/unconstitutional wars…It is not my kid dying and climate change is not happening in my backyard…
It’s like Trump dismissing the climate change reports from 300 scientists. He read some of them. Said he doesn’t believe it. He claims people like him, who are very intelligent, knows better.

The “electric universe” scammers come up wit BS to match things like the Jet Stream and whatever.
It’s very easy to have people fall for pseudo-science and whatever crap. It’s not as much as gullible people as it is manipulative intent behind most of it.
Shawn H Corey Well, to me it would seem denial can be both an active or a passive phenomena, as in people denying health risks or symptoms of illness. Same with climate change, they deny the science, deny the facts, deny the global weather events.
