Mittermeier said while she and SeaLegacy co-founder Paul Nicklen had taken photos and video of the bear on Somerset Island, Nunavut, in August 2017 to “illustrate the urgency of climate change,” it is impossible to know why the bear was sick.

  • No they did not do wrong…it was starving…we need to show the consequences of climate change… the melting of the Artic continues in use and less and less sea ice… There will be less polar bears… For the public and the Inuit….

But this article originally was about the biologists’ observations.. and their observation of this one animal

That said we can also show climate change in a separate story affecting the Inuit… Their way of life is disappearing to as the ice disappears…. the animals they hunt are impacted… Let alone their communities are being flooded by sea rise… where will they go?…

  • It is important to show the consequences of climate change…. We have not been doing this enough…. In order for the public to see the connections between CO2 emissions and real life consequences to life on Earth… For all cultures and All Creatures..

…this picture alone moved more people than 10000 words…

Climate change is a slow moving disaster…. We need to act now and lower emissions….

  • Yes! Animals, marine life and people will be victims of climate change. There’s already mounting evidence to show it’s already happening. North American govenments don’t seem to care much.
