Well, maybe they’ll get lucky and their houses won’t blow up like they did near Boston last week.
In the US, natural gas causes fires in more than 20 thousand homes every year. Damages were about $1.5 billion in 2011 alone.
David Belliveau I wood imagine that natural gas fires don’t happen as often as coal furnace fires did in the past.

Yup. And hardly any of us get kicked in the head by our horse anymore.
It’s still more than 50 fires a day caused by a single technology. It averages out to $75,000 damage per fire. Crazy.
Imagine if televisions caused fires in 50 homes every day? That would be on the news every night until it was stopped.
