It is our new Sydney Steel, a thing whose rationale for existing has simply run out, which is more trouble than it’s worth, has cost the public purse a fortune, has destroyed much of the forest, has assaulted the health of residents for miles around, and which has in Boat Harbour its own nationally ill-famed version of the Sydney tar ponds. It might well have closed in 2010 when the others did, had it not been for a new panicked outburst of government handouts. #nspoli
