Steve MacLellan There is the magnetic field issue. It is weakening and magnetic poles may flip or the magnetic field may just phase out. The magnetic field hasn’t reversed in a very long time compared to the frequency it had in the past and this may be a sign of it going out.
And then, there is also this, although it may not affect life as deeply as if the magnetic field fizzles out.
As for intelligence and consciousness, it is my personal opinion that these are vastly overrated 😉
